Cafe Yumm Bowl at Home

Eating healthy and being on the road takes some careful navigation. It usually means doing a bit of research before your trip or having all the right apps on your smart phone before you leave. Since I eat a wholefoods diet that is gluten-free I usually do my homework a few weeks before I’m set to leave my house.

Five or so years ago I was researching Eugene, Oregon. This is a fabulous city to stop in if you are looking for delicious and nutrient dense meals. When I first walked into Cafe Yumm I didn’t know what to expect. Going rogue and trying out new restaurants which tout gluten free dishes can be hit or miss. When it’s a miss it’s incredibly discouraging.

Cafe Yumm is probably to date, one of my favorite restaurants on the planet. When I ordered an original Yumm Bowl for the first time it was pure delight to my taste buds. It was as if they managed to create perfection in one round bowl.  It was a masterpiece.

Realizing that I had to have this Yumm Sauce for my very own, I brought a cooler on my last journey through Oregon. My only mistake was buying just one single bottle.

Original Yumm Sauce is egg free, dairy free, made with non – GMO ingredients, sugar free, gluten-free, wheat-free, cholesterol free and is low sodium.

One of the best things about creating Yumm Bowls at home is adding whatever is in the fridge or kitchen cabinet. The bowl at the top of the post includes brown basmati, cherry tomatoes, micro greens, kidney beans and bell pepper.

Where can you buy Cafe Yumm sauce?   From the Cafe Yumm website: “All three flavors of Yumm! Sauce™ (Original, Roasted Garlic, and Chipotle) are available in convenient 8 oz. jars or by the liter in all of our restaurant locations. Retailers throughout Oregon, and in parts of Washington and California, also carry jars. If your local retailer does not carry Yumm! Sauce™, ask them to carry it. Jars may also be shipped by the case, six jars per case. Contact us at 541-683-9866 or email us at sauce@cafeyumm.com for ordering information.”
